San Francisco

Rise and shine, with another early morning we are two tired girls as of late. The mission today was to get from Yosemite, to Big Sur, to San Francisco, all by 3:00 pm...and we did just that. The morning was quiet with no one on the roads, turns out not many people like to be up and moving before the sun. We made the easy drive to Big Sur in a few hours. Neither of us fully knew what to expect but the sight exceeded any expectations we could have had.

We hung around for a bit to take some pictures but with the fog increasing and our time decreasing we decided not to stay too long. We drove to San Francisco with one pit stop for lunch!

After shortly arriving in SF we made our way to Pier 33 where we would board our boat to Alcatraz...spooky. We landed on the island shortly after departure, considering mainland is only a mile or so away. We made our way up to the cell house where we partook in a self guided audio tour. This was very intriguing as the tour was told as though they were guards and inmates giving the tour. I could go on for a while about all that was said but that seems too extra so in your spare time look it up.

We were let out early on good behavior and headed to a boardwalk just a bit down from our boarding spot. We walked in and out of the touristy shops and then got some dinner with the end of the day happening in our sweet little hotel. Thanks day 23 for being so good to us!
