Portland

Somehow we had to get to Portland... Day 25 was a full driving day with nothing much but naps and fast food stops.

After waking up on day 26 only 3 hours away from our destination, we have finally made it to Portland!

First stop: Lunch (duh). Kati Portland, a new vegetarian Thai restaurant, treated us well with some friendly service and delicious fried rice and rice noodles.

Our expectations were significantly exceeded the second we arrived in rose city, the greenery, the roses and the excessive amount of bikers makes Portland stand out unlike any other city we've been too so far.

That being said, we decided to hit up several of the most popular attractions. Powell's Books was first on our list and good thing it was, we spent almost 2 hours here rummaging through the different rooms. The pearl room, our favorite, housed books no longer being printed form as early as 1480. The place even had the original copy of The Lorax by Dr. Seuss on display!!

Our next stop: Voodoo Donuts. The variety of choices put any other donut store to shame. See for yourself...

Next, the International Rose Testing Garden provided us with exactly what we needed after indulging in too many donuts, fresh scents and unfortunately, a walk... hahaha. It almost seemed as if the roses were talking to us, reassuring us of how beautiful they were. They were all in bloom and thriving...

After spending well over an hour at the garden, our tummies were grumbling and here we are talking about food again... Because the bar we ate at was pretty dim, we don't have any pictures of our delicious Vegan BBQ. Black Water was mostly a bar with a stage but the food proved the place was restaurant worthy. Unfortunately we were "too young" to stay after our meal and enjoy the eccentric music performance that was going on. Portland doesn't really like anyone under 21 to have too much night time fun...

Regardless of being treated as young children at the ages of 18 and 20, we made it to our quaint but cute little home for the next two nights and indulged in a bubbly jacuzzi bath.

Although it has been challenging, clearly, to write blog posts every night, we have been having a blast sharing our adventure with you guys. Another day in Portland awaits!
